Dr. Weston A. Price

Dr. Weston A. Price travelled around the world in the 1930's studying the health of native populations and the affect of modern lifestyle on their oral and overall health.

It's worth mentioning that international travel to remote parts of the world was not easy in the 1930s. His expeditions were dangerous, arduous and took years.

Dr. Price travelled to remote regions in Switzerland, Scotland, North America, Africa, Fiji and Australia - tough to do today, near impossible in the the 1930s! Such was his commitment to doing thorough research and getting to the root cause of modern disease.

Dr. Price found that the native populations whose diet was uncorrupted by Western 'foods of commerce' (refined and processed foods like white flour and sugar) had an incredible bill of health including a fully formed dental arch with all their teeth (wisdom teeth too), no cavities and impressive physiques.

These people have nourished their bodies for generations with the food naturally found in their environment including seafood, meat, organs, raw dairy products, root vegetables and berries.

They had no chronic disease like diabetes, heart disease and mental disease.

Plus, they were in incredible physical shape with well developed muscle and very little body fat.

Below is a photo taken on Dr. Price's travels through Australia. The man in the centre looks like he's in his 60s. And they've never stepped foot in a gym!

Dr. Price visited an isolated valley in Switzerland where he examined the local people. They had excellent teeth, good physiques and strong immunity to disease.

They ate a traditional diet of dairy products, whole rye bread and whole plant foods, meat was eaten once a week.

In contrast, Swiss children living in modern environments had widespread tooth decay, poorly formed dental arches and greater susceptibility to disease. Their diet included fewer dairy products with the addition of sugar and refined flour.

Dr. Price discovered a similar phenomenon in a Gaelic community off Scotland were the traditional diet was primarily seafood, meat, organs and root vegetables.

What you can learn from the work of Dr. Weston A. Price:

Avoid what Dr. Price refers to as the 'foods of commerce' (high margin modern foods manufactured with profit as the primary motivator, not nutrition) including:

- White flour
- Refined sugar
- Alcohol

Eat more nutrient-rich foods that are high in vitamins and minerals including:

- Meat
- Fish
- Animal organs
- Raw dairy

Contrary to what we've been taught by school and the media, primitive people lived long healthy lives into their 80s and beyond without the use of modern medicine.

This is not reflected in the life expectancy data because rates of infant mortality distort the statistics. If you could make it past 10 years old in a primitive tribe, the odds of living a long and healthy life were in your favour.

How many people today can say they're living a life of health and vitality past 50 years old?

By exploring the lives of primitive people, Dr. Price made important discoveries into the world of nutrition.

It seems today we're always looking to the future for some kind of innovative health miracle.

Would tapping into ancient wisdom, fine-tuned over thousands of years, not be a more effective method of discovery?

I highly recommend reading the work of Dr. Weston A. Price, you can purchase a copy of his book Nutritional and Physical Degeneration from Amazon or Booktopia.

Learning about Dr. Price changed my life. His research, conducted almost 100 years ago, confirmed what I intuitively knew about nutrition.

Animal-based diets sourced locally from animals leading a natural life and eating a natural diet are far more nutritious than our modern foods of commerce.

These diets provide at least four times the amount of calcium and other important minerals that the western modern population eats, and at least ten times the amount of fat-soluble vitamins from animal sources such as butter, fish eggs, shellfish, internal organs, and meat.

My father has 2 heart stents due to blockage. My family is fighting me on recommending him the carnivore diet. Scared it will create havoc on his heart or arteries. Father is 75 yrs. What would you recommend? Thank you for all you do.

It’s amazing that the food industry/government has such control that this information is almost hidden but the massive advertising of ‘non foods’ is encouraged.
